I just found a 4.56 rear Axle with the factory E-lockers, this is a silly question, but is it possible to regear it to 4.10 and retain the locker?

Yes it is. So yes if you have an Alpha with factory gears you'll need to go 4.10. You can still use the locker if you change out the ring and pinion gear to a 4.10 ratio.

Phenomenal. Found a 09 adventure with lockers and electronics for 1k. Won't be needing the front diff, if we ever get the Dana ifs

Nice find! A 2009-2010 with front and rear lockers is hard to come by. The front diff is definitely worth something if the guy is selling it cheap enough. If so, you could just put both diffs in there unless you are planning a D44 SAS soon.

Well I was hoping for a Dana ifs as I'll be pushing over 500hp

Eh, you don't need to switch to 4.10's with the Alpha, especially if you're sizing up on tires. I actually regeared with 4.56 gears when I had my axles rebuilt and lockers installed. The final drive ratio with 35's and 4.56 gears actually works out to about the same, or close enough, as with the stock 33's and 4.10's.

only going with 35s, comparing the 2 tire sizes and gear ratios, I can either be above by 5mph or below by 4mph give or take some when comparing 4.10 33's vs 4.56 and 4.10 35's

i think the point was that with the heavier wheel/tire setup, you'd be better off & have more usable power by keeping 4.56s.

Perhaps, I will be running a 6 speed auto and I assume I'll need a tune for new gear ratios which wouldn't be a problem as I'm getting one done anyway

I think going with 4.56's and the 6 speed will result in a really nice setup, even more so if you have the 4:1 transfer case. Super low crawl offroad, and great ratio's for on-road. The top end ratios on the 6L80 are pretty tall so even with a V8 if you're running 35's you will see a lot of downshifting on hills. Going with 4.56's will help mitigate that a bit compared to 4.10's.

Hmmm, I'll have to think about it then. I won't be running a hummer transfer case though, so only a 1:1 gear ratio
