You pulled the plug holding the bypass valve to add your Oil Pressure Gauge. Did you leave the bypass valve in place?

BTW the plug is metric, not SAE.

All I did was pull the plug to put in the sensor that is it. It has worked great for almost two years now. Yes, I know it's metric but I didn't have any metric RBT impact sockets that big. It also fit nice and tight.

You should be able to pull engine oil pressure using a scan gauge.
You're looking at an I5 here, it only uses a pressure switch. The V8 has a pressure sensor, which is mounted in the head.

When I added a gauge to my I5, I removed the pressure switch you see there and added a brass tee to mount the switch and the gauge's pressure sender. Also, only go with an electronic gauge, not the cheaper mechanical gauges. Having a small hose be a point of failure on something like this is a terrible idea.
