What do you guys think?
AIRDOC intake vs K&N Aircharger Intake Kit (part #63-3065)?

They are both available to me at the exact same price, so it all comes down to which is simply better at what it does.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I would go with Airdoc as you keep the stock box (better protection). I have had both & my major beef with them is the metal tubes because of inducted heat. I rubbed back my Airdoc & painted it with ceramic paint.

+1 for the airdoc... If you go offroad, the filter is better protected as stated above.... If not, the K&N may give you a bigger gain with the more open filter...

AirDoc and AFE dry filter or similar. I believe the oiled filters allow too much dirt into the engine.

What about the GM Performance Parts air intake (that's the one the dealer sold to me when I first bought my H3 brand new)? How would you rate that? AND, what kind of filter can you put in that thing besides the one that came with it?

I don't know the details on that one though I'm sure others do. A lot of the GM Performance stuff seems to be pretty good. Do you know if that filter was the same as on a stock H3? I assume it's the conical one, not the flat filter, correct?

I have not used the Air Doc but I have the K&N and I am on the fence. Good for street but not really happy with the fitment under the hood. The rubber seal does not give complete shut off from the engine bay and adding a snorkel later is out of the question. As far as filtration issues, I have used oiled filters for over 30 years in everything off-road and I have never had a dirt issue. I would like to see dyno comparisons myself.

build your own?

Possibly, but will probably end up purchasing it directly to save some time.

I love what you did to your rims, I was looking for a thread about it, but came out empty... Can you please send me some info?

Sure! I bought the truck with the black rims! All you have to do tho is clean the rims off really really well, get some good spray paint and do a couple layers and your good to go!

Sent from the top of a mountain in my h3

Yeah I have the plasti-dip ready for a test run... I was asking about your bead-lock rings; are these the Hutchinson beadlocks? If its just an add on ring, I'd really like to know how to get that look.
Can't seem to find something useful online.

Thanks!

Thanks for sharing! Seems like a waste of money though, for $400 per stock rim, I can just add a bit and get aftermarket wheels.

I found these on back-order from OKoffroad: http://www.okoffroad.com/stuff-beadlock-f.htm
Has anyone tried this on stock H3 rims? Or can anyone recommend beadlock rings that do?

I would Purchase directly from Tom Cepek (owner of GT, inc) at Hummerproducts.com
http://hummerproducts.com/hummer-wheels.asp

click on the Hummer H3 tab to view the wheels.

Green 1 and myself run the GT, Inc wheels (more commonly known as Cepek Wheels in the Hummer community) on our H1s. they are the only aftermarket wheels approved by AM General to be used on an H1/Humvee due to having the correct backspacing and appropriate weight rating per wheel (4500 lbs per wheel; higher than factory wheels made by Hutchinson for the H1)

He's great to do business with and I plan to buy his Shock setup for H1s in the near future

or get some true beadlocks
