Going to get an 09 H3T Alpha on Friday. It seems to be in great shape and comes with lockers front and rear so that a plus. Also, it will come with extra wheels and tires so I'll have a set up MT for the trails and AT for everyday driving. I'll be driving from SE Washington approximately 700 miles into Montana to pick this thing up and drive it back. Wish me luck. I look forward to being part of the group! Thanks.

I currently reside in the Tri Cities.

I have a good customer out in Walla Walla but haven't been out that way since last year.
My buddy and I are starting to plan a trip out to Klikitat for some camping and hunting with the boys soon, hoping to find some decent off road adventures as well.

Well, 15 hours after starting out and 700+ miles later, I am officially an H3T Alpha owner! 20190125_154051.jpg20190125_154132.jpg20190125_155103.jpg20190126_052742.jpg20190125_155549.jpg

Thanks everyone! I am coming from a JKU Rubicon. I needed more utility and towing capacity for my family outings. The Alpha Adventure, or is it Off-road edition (not quite sure if the Alpha is and an adventure package or offroad package, seems silly to name the i5 one thing and the v8 another, but oh well still learning). Looking at the window sticker/build sheet, it seems to be a good base to start with.

It has 35" AT tires on it with 20" rims  (not my first choice, but the tires are brand new so they are staying.) The previous owner threw in some chrome 17s (see Picture)20190126_091241.jpg, so the idea is to buy some good 35" MTs (I was thinking of some Mickey Thompson Baja Blaw TTCs). Then I could have a EDD set and a set for when i hit the trails.

One thing, I am well aware that no one buys a Hummer for the fuel mileage, the build sheet states 17 city/ 22 Hwy.... I averaged 14.5 mpg on my 350 mile trip back. I did go through 2 mountain passes, but that is not even in the same ballpark? Could something be wrong?

Anyway, thanks for all the warm welcomes. I'm sure I will be picking some of your brains in the days to come.

Those fuel economy ratings are from before they changed the method used to calculate them so they were optimistically high at the time. In order to get 22 mpg on the highway you would need to drive no faster than 55 mph, maybe up to 60 mph, and be on a flat grade with no headwind, cargo, passengers, etc.

I can get about 15 to 16 mpg on the highway and only 12.5 in the city with my Alpha on a freshly rebuilt engine and new transmission with 33 inch Duratracs. So no, nothing is wrong with yours.

I also just noticed that is gallons in Canada which may be different from US gallons, the US gallon being less if Canada uses Imperial gallons like the UK. My measurements are using US gallons.

You did mention that you have 35s, the speedo should be abit off if the truck wasnt recalibrated for thw stock 32s, which will affect your actual mpg calculations

35's will cost you a few mpg. Also, if the speedo wasn't corrected for them then you will be off there as well.
