My truck comes with the Fan kit installed stock (SA models). I have a Dual electric fan setup, added to the clutch fan. The electrics have 3 settings, off, low and high. The temp gauge never moves about the half-line even during extensive wheeling, and current temps outside are in the 110s (41-43c)
The electric fans are supposedly sold by the company are the same brand as the ones that come stock on SA Hummers (Spal italy) so Im assuming same results.

I have it installed on my 2008 H3. I'll start by saying that I do like it and it does keep things around 190-210 when wheeling but I also have an external Trans cooler and eliminated it running thru the stock radiator. I had it on for a about a year now and when is cool outside 70 and below I don’t see the temp rise about 198 and when it does the fan kicks on (at 190) and drops the temp quick. The only issue that I run into is when I'm running down the road and the A/C is on with outside air temp 80 or above. That when I get up to 210-220. I do have a lot of stuff on and in my truck so I know that doesn’t help the 3.7L at all. The only other issue is towing, when I tow my boat about 3400-3600LBS it heats up quick 230-235 sometimes and stays there until I hit a red light then it cools down quick to 190 then back up. I have looked at the black plate that the fan comes attached to and I have been thinking about trimming it up some so that air can pass a little more freely through it instead of just thru the fan opening. Overall I am pleased with the fan I would just like to see the temp stay around 210 max (a tad higher than center gauge).

I use my scan guageII to get the temp readings.

Thanks for the info.
Right now in traffic I am running 215 to 220 but mostly toward the 220 mark and about 198 to 210 highway so long as it is a flat run (scan guage II), I would like to keep it at the latter or lower all the time. temps outside are about 105 right now.

I also am running an external transmission cooler.

I do however think my fan clutch is starting to go as it does not always kick in when the engine gets hot.

I am trying to figure out if going electric is worth the money, seems to me it should do better as it should move more air at lower speeds, like when rock crawling.

there is another set up made by a company called Supermodulation that uses a two speed fan. by the way Is the one from PCM a two speed?

Here is their page with their testing http://www.355nation.net/forum/sfan...-model-sfan4500-electric-cooling-fan-kit.html

The OP is talking about the fan on the inside of the engine bay, directly connected to the engine via viscous clutch. ours also has this one with the two fans in the front . just imagine if we replaced this fan with an electric one as well :giggle:

Just so you know, electric fans are never as efficient as mechanical viscous fans. Substituting it will only make things worse. Adding one as an additional fan, will help.

I've had my PCM fan almost 3 years now and not one bad this to say about it, but everyone thinks that there's a leaf blower under my hood.

Ill try taking a better look today! I thought they are electrics since they are the same brand as the pcmforless ones. However the fact the engine temp needle never moves up about halfway (even at 44 degrees Celsius) is starting to worry me! My H3 manual is based on US models, so no reference to any of this and the dealer has no clue about SA models (they didnt know the Alpha comes with dual fans and many other things)

Mine also stays a hair width below half, and with my bullydog I monitor the temps and they heve yet to exceed 100degrees C. so the two electric fans up front with the mechanical fan does its work well :)

Do they by any chance interfere with the work of the A/C unit? Im getting intermittend A/C issues mentioned in this other thread http://www.hummer4x4offroad.com/forum/showthread.php?5326-Intermittent-A-C-Cooling-Problem and the dealer is unable to figure out whats going on. Hope you may have something for me...

I saw with th HPTuners there are various conditions for the AC to be switched off, i.e full throttle, rps exceeding a preset limit, engine temp exceeding specific limit etc. but the fans up front only uses the ac signal to switch on and off, thus no feedback from them that could interfere with A/C.
