I know some of this got lost in those lengthy explanations and repeated from time to time but; it keeps coming up.
Yeah those two rigid hydraulic lines will not withstand much movement at all. When the rack breaks the shorter one will usually go according to my experience and those that have contacted me about there's. That also lets all the fluid out and can burn up your pump.
Remember that was also one of my mods when I first did all this was to at least change that one out. I had to use the fittings as they are something odd and had a flex line made. Notice it has a flex bend that I had measured to let it extend if it needed to. The fittings are swedged on compression fittings and brazed. I figured if it broke it would save the pump until I could get off the trail and put another rack in. I carry fluid and spare lines now. With the rack broke you can steer but it is very sloppy. That is if your tie rods don't both break.
I think I have the solution for the tie rod part.

When we do my rack my guy will be doing a couple things that we can see what folks think about, and I can guinea pig as well.

We're going to make ABS bushings to replace the rubber bushings in the two mounts on the rack. This in conjunction with the other side being locked down we feel will eliminate the separation forces.

We're going to source two flex lines to replace the solid lines on the rack. I like Hunner's setup, but I don't want to deal with brazing it on, so my guy mentioned that he can get lines made, and will get them made with approx 2" of slack so that if it does separate we'll still have steering, like what Hunner did.

Then of course put the sleeve in, use the thin rubber sheet, and come up with a setup to make the added mount I want on there easy to install.

Have yet to have a tie rod issue... last time I drove out of some pretty nasty stuff after breaking & still no issues.
