:) What...?

So this little thing broke. I was able to pop the broken end from the arm with an awl....and the ball joint from the end of the shock.

Seems like a $0.10 part...err a $3.25 replacement... Anyone have any hints on what to ask/search for?

Low profile rivet sort of...

If you call snug top and give the the serial number from the top (it in the left/driver corner) they can get you one. All the hardware is available still

They updated the strike loop design... seems like it'll fit. Less adjustable but fewer parts to wear out/rust. Originals had soft-plastic sleeves that deteriorated quickly. Perhaps they acted as a cushion of sorts...but I feel like they caused more trouble than they fixed. Closing the lid should normally be a 'set it down' then 'click it closed' like you'll see the prezident of Long Beach doing here at SEMA (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mtOqurvjT9Y&t=90s) ... but in practice after a while it wouldn't latch and you'd have to sort of slam it closed or one side or both would pop up.

This rivet ball-stud for the gas lift on the lower part of the stays remains a mystery. Why a rivet? Where did they even get a rivet mounted ball-stud? Did they fab that themselves? Rivet diameter and height is 0.24" and it's hollow.... ~0.8" to the top of the 0.39" ball. The lifting part of the SlantBack is actually quite heavy with it's huge 36" x 42" sheet of automotive safety glass plus the roof-rails which are about as long as the ones on the roof. And they choose to hold that up with a 1/4" hollow rivet? I've been to half a dozen places looking for 'something' that'll go through the existing 0.24" hole and give me a ball-stud on the other side and even the truck-cap places are saying good luck with that. Even Spaenaur which happens to be around the corner from me...60k fasteners...nope. Asked the dealer to ask SnugTop for details.
