M105 A2 old military trailer $$$

I have this guy selling this old M105 A2 1 1/2 ton military trailer for $500 dollar, And I think it is a little over price. What do you guys think ? He has two trailer he's selling, he sells me one for $500 or the 2 for $900. anyways how much you guys think this trailer cost given the current conditions.

It is original wiring, he has the papers but hasn't registered it...only reason I think it is over priced is because my cousin he over heard this person's conversation a little while ago saying to someone else that he wanted $400 or $350. I think it is a docent price but I'll see my cousin said he has had them for awhile now, that I shouldn't worry about him selling them anytime soon.
Also is this a good size trailer or would it e a little too much. I just mainly want it to put a above ground camping tent and some other camping gear. I think a trailer is better than a roof rack.

I sold it for $1000 and bought an M416 - which is the perfect sized camping trailer for me. It's currently being built into a customized Scorpwoks offroad camping trailer by Dwaine.

The 105 is a big trailer. Probably more than you want to pull with an H3. As far as price goes 500 is ok but it can be a hassle to register. You also must upgrade the wiring and probably new tires so it may be high. I missed an M101A3 that was converted registered and the trailer and canvas were like new for 750. It also had new tires.

Nice that sounds like a good project, I would like to see some pics when you get it back.

And weight is the only thing that's raising problems and concerns with me about this trailer, I think the 3.7 can haul somewhere between 2-4,000 pounds but I'm not sure...I wouldn't feel comfortable towing more than 2,500 pounds and that would in rare occasions. If I can't get the guys to sell it cheaper, I might just buy it and see how it behaves and fix it up while at it...and if it turns out that it doesn't work sell it.
I do like the $500 price on this rather than the $1,000+ on the roof racks. But I'll see what happens.

Is it hard to conver the cable connection or it as simple as to cut off the current plug pill off the cables and throw a regular trailer plug connection

Rewiring from 24v to 12v can be tricky if the trailer wires are no longer labeled. They are not color coded like to he 12v wiring. If you go this route, track down a copy of the original manual so that you can figure out the wiring. Another option to rewiring is to buy a "military trailer harness adapter" (you can find them on eBay). Either way, you will need to convert the 24v bulbs to 12v bulbs because the 24v bulbs will be too dim after the conversion and you don't want to get a ticket for them being too dim.

Thus one has what seem like new or well preserved tires they don't look crack and have all of the hairs that new tires have. I would need to see what takes to register it and the cable conversion

Well it seems like the harness adapter would be the easiest way to deal with the wiring what not and just change the bulbs light...I'll see if the guys comes down in price. He seem pretty interested in selling yesterday, and my cousin said he has had them for about 5-6 months now, and they just been sitting there. He also said he would throw the canvas covers for it so even if he doesn't want to lower the price I think what he's asking is a fair price.

Are there still two trailers? I've been looking for one to pull behind the H1. What kind of deal could we get on both of them with the canvas covers? I was looking at one in Cerritos, CA and the guy wanted $800 for it. It was pretty decent, so these sound pretty good.

Yesterday when I talked to The guy, he sound and look pretty interested in selling and happy to get rid of them which might work on my advantage of trying to see if he get me the deal of $350-$400.
But if you are interested we could see if we get then both for 450 with covers and that still a good deal. He has the needed paper for registration he said he hasn't registered them because he end up not finding any use for them and he didn't want to pay the registration fees an what not.
I might see him again on Monday. Since they have the trailer park at the place my cousin works. I could talk to the guy again and let you know what he says and if you still interested ?!!

No idea about the hitch but that shouldn't be hard to ding i seen a lot of pick-up with those military M1151 hitch thingies. The. Hardest part in a way would be getting the electrical harness converter so it works with our truck. Unless the H1's come with the type of wiring

I think I've seen those military hitches around, like on ebay. I'm not sure about the wiring. I have seen a lot of the H1's pulling those trailers though. If we get a good deal it shouldn't be a problem.

Search your local Craigslist ads for the pintle hitch. I see them all the time here on Tucson CL for around $50.

Yeah I'm gonna look for a M101 A3 trailer, the M105 A2 is about 2,500 lbs that's about the maximum weight load that I'll want to tow with my H3, and well I have no hurry or really need for a trailer right now, I just saw this M105 A2 and taught this was and is still a good deal, I'm still gonna talk to the guys and see if he is willing to go lower in the price so the fellow forum member Sircode13 gets the best deal on this.
