Discovered this site! Figure I could use some advice - I have a H3 Alpha that now sports a 6.0 V-8, but stock rear end and stock 16 inch wheels and tires. A good friend suggested I should consider making some changes to take advantage of the increased power - maybe even just for better mileage. I don't tow heavy loads, just a trailer with an ATV.

Yes. The H3 still has all the original extras.

Had the swap done by Mash Motors. That was a nail-biter - I had just had surgery doen, and would never get an answer out of him. Got lucky, got my Hummer back and it works great. Just swapped out the engine.

Average is about 14-15 mph. Actually recorded a max of about 19 mpg on Interstate 40 after a hunting trip...
