T-bar cranking vs. "reindexing"

Hi guys,
I was snooping around on a couple of 4wd parts sites and came across something called a "torsion bar kit". To me, it appears to be just a new torsion bar
"key" or end point, much like what we already have on the H2's and H3's.
Here is what I am wondering:
What do these "reindexing" keys actually DO?
When we crank our t-bars, we essentially turn them to lift the suspension. How is "reindexing" different??? At the end of the day, mounting a new key
would still just turn the t-bar (I _has_ to, otherwise the suspension won't lift) or?

alrock:
In most cases you won't need a kit. So far, I don't think I've heard of anyone having to switch to a kit for the H3 though some have put the Alpha torsion
bars on the I5 trucks.

Those keys are unnecessary, just crank the torsion bars. If anything those keys will allow for more lift
which will introduce higher CV and steering component angles that cause damage.

A "reindexed" key basicly changes the point in adjusting the TB that the TB starts going in to tension. This is most often done by changing the angle on the key and has the effect of pre loading the TB with a few turns of the adjusting bolt before you actualy start turning the bolt. Clear as mud?
