My New 2012 Raptor

I finally decided on a 2012 Raptor as my trade for the H3T. Loaded with every option. I absolutely love it. Everything you could think to add to the T, the Raptor has. The transfer case is only 2.68:1, but it has a 4:1 first gear, so the crawl ratio is about the same of the H3T. It also has a Torsen limited slip in the front. It's supposed to work well...we'll see. The 411hp is amazing; this truck flies. The suspension is also great. The high speed bumps in the desert are barely felt where I would be bouncing like crazy in the H3T. The front camera is awesome and being able to lock the rear in 2H is also cool. I could go on forever. The only drawback is I got the 4Dr, so it's longer than the T.

Look to see the Raptor at Moab in October! HUMMERs, Jeeps, and now a Raptor. It really is Black Sheep week

Well, if you're gonna get rid of the Hummer, I guess thats the way to go. Love the graphics as well.

I am a Ford guy and was going to get one but, the price tag is the main reason I did not, and then the gas mileage was the next.. Awesome piece of machinery though... Congrats...

I came this close to buying a raptor earlier this year ->||<- lol. It was actually going to be for my daughter to drive every day. Having test driven a few, I have to say the power of the truck is intoxicating. It sounds mean as hell and it can seriously move when the gas pedal is pushed. It looked really nice too. My daughter wanted the molten orange color and I tried my best to convince her to go for the racing red, the same color as yours. In the end what changed her mind is that she realized that for the same price as the raptor she could get both a truck (a used H2) and a motorcycle (ducati panigale 1199) for the same price, so that's how I ended up becoming a 3 hummered family as opposed to a 2 Hummer/raptor family. The funny thing is, Ford really really wants to lure away GM customers and Hummer owners are right smack in the middle of the sweet spot for trucks like the raptor. I know this because they still keep contacting me. The marketing is good and you know I could just be tempted with the right package.

All that and it's as luxurious as a Mercedes inside. AC seats! The front-facing camera is so awesome. The ride with tuned suspension is out of this world. Takes the whoops like nothing. Not to mention is can tow 8000# even with the soft springs. To me, this truck was a comprise between my H3T and a Power Wagon. Some great things from both trucks while adding many of its own perks. I tried to like the Rubicon, but I'm just too big and I don't feel comfortable inside. As for the expense, you guys would be surprised with HUMMERs are worth these days...I got an amazing trade in on my H3T.

Skinny pedal through the air naked. It'll be on the slickrock in October. I'll have a winch and sliders mounted by next month.

you can even fit 37's on these with the truxx kit.

my buddy just bought another Raptor (his second). he did the front perch adjustment to the next notch up on the Fox c/o's. raises up the front a bit. look saggressive, ride stayed the same...just fyi.

Is your daughter single? Between 18 and 28?

Yea, I'll be doing the perch adjustment and probably new rear leaves or a long add-a-leaf (the pack could use another leaf...). I ordered 37" MT/R's this week. I think this will be the best tire for my use. Per your request, I'll be posting my mods here since the Raptor guys have seen a million modded Raptors already...

So far ordered mods are:

Wicked Performance Winch bumper, sliders, and rear bumper
37" GY MT/Rs
Hefty Fab Full Skid Plate package (engine, transmission, t/c, and gas tank)

I'm also building a bed cage like what I wanted for the Hummer, but not like the full tube bed I had originally planned.

Only thing left is a tuner, and I will be done and back to focusing on my Jeep. I probably won't change the intake and I did my straight exhaust this past weekend. The Raptor is pretty close to perfect from the factory.

Nice truck for sure!!!!

I was sad for you trading in the T, not anymore lol. Awesome truck! There is one that passes me on the way to work now and then and the sound of it makes me drool a little each time. Congrats.
