It does fantastic and better than expected. I thought there would be lots of bottom scraping due to break over, and there was none. The engine has amazing torque and I did most everything in 4Hi.

Great pics. I have been waiting for time (and to repair the H3) before I go to the perch adjustment. I will probably go middle perch and slap 37s. My off-roader is the H3, so this might just see the dunes or forest roads out here. I took it out on some trails near houghton lake and now need to have paint buffed. There just is not enough room for a Raptor on most of the MI trails. I have added the FRP light bar with Hella 550's since this pic was taken.

Ah cool. It has done well offroad and even crawling. I'll buff it when I'm ready to sell

With 21" of clearance at the hitch, it should be great than the T. Approach should be equivalent. I'm worried about break over...but no problems yet.

I think you should change your name to 3Hummers+Raptor and join the club.

Raptors are cool and it would be fun to have one but I need heavier duty trucks for hauling tractors, horse trailers, etc around.

A few updates on the Raptor: I've added Icon 3.0 shocks to the front, but not yet the rear, Hefty Fab skids (engine, trans, t-case, and gas tank), some more RI lights to the front, and I have Method NV's being delivered next week. They just came out and the first ones are making their way to the car guys. I'll post pics when they are on. I also removed the exhaust behind the cats and added a turn down to the bed, did an add-a-leaf in the rear. Other than that, a few odds and end here and there. Next up: Icon upper A-arms, new larger front fenders (Glassworks or Boatec) and a bed cage/roll bar/tire mount.

I just caught up with this build on page 6; so let me get this right--you've put new front shocks on it, add-a-leafs, replaced bumpers, will be changing up a-arms, going to replace front fenders, etc, etc.

Not to be critical here Mike, but sounds like you've succeded in building a......Ford F-150; hope you've got some good memories of when it was a Raptor


If you'd have gotten a deuce and did all this work, it would still be...... a HUMMER with bad ass mods

Twinmill, the F150 and Raptor are two different trucks. You'll have to read up on the differences/ quite a few. The above comment is like saying the h2 and the Tahoe are the same truck. lol.
The upgrades done to his so far are what's needed to really pound on the raptor (and run 37's). There are F150 upgrades you can do to "duplicate" the Raptor, but still not the same.

I don't follow the logic at all. The Raptor is a good base truck and these are all upgrades. As Tim states, there are very significant differences with the F150 besides the obvious suspension upgrades and 6.2L engine, like they don't even share a frame or the same steering.

I believe the wider control arms, cvs, tierods, spindles, etc would all bolt onto a stock f150. As for body they are very different obviously and cannot just be switched out. There was a guy that I though bought the raptor suspension components used and was trying to copy the raptor and run glass instead of factory body. I am not 100% it was a while ago I read the thread.

The mounts are higher quality across the board, and I'm not sure what else. Recently, I believe it was SDHQ build an Ecoboost Raptor for SEMA. They bought a new F150 Ecoboost, swapped in a Raptor frame, all the suspension and body panel. Odd, I know, but this was actually cheaper than buying a crate Ecoboost engine.

Where's that sarcasm smiley when you need it, I think you guys are missing that on twins post. Might be the fla air but I'm seeing it as him busting your chops on changing alot of stuff on a raptor after ford changed alot on a f150 to make the raptor kinda the whole h2/tahoe or h3/canyon thing
